Our brief from global cashback and rewards provider Rakuten was to establish them in the UK with a standout campaign that would get them noticed in the busy shopping period from Black Friday to Christmas.

With insight showing savvy shoppers will do anything to get the best deals on Black Friday, from getting up early to working from home, and even calling in sick, we explored how this Black Friday was in fact SLACK Friday with one in 10 Brits planning on doing ‘a Ferris Bueller’ and pulling a sickie so they had more time to shop.

Coverage was extensive, generating more than 300 interviews and articles including The Telegraph, Mirror, Express, Sun and Star, leading to a huge increase in new customers.
